Strategic Design Manager
to drive Finnair’s creative vision and have a direct impact on the experience of over 10 million customers that we fly annually.
Working within the customer experience department, you will lead the development of the overall look and feel of Finnair in the physical world and implement the strategic design vision of our aircraft cabins and lounges. Taking the lead with multiple internal stakeholders and external design partners and agencies as well as key product suppliers, you will use your project management and stakeholder management skills to deliver product initiatives on time and on budget. You will be heavily involved with aircraft cabin specification and development, as well as lounges. Your understanding of space and color, material and finish will aid you in your role.
As strategic design manager, you will also promote the power of design and design thinking throughout the product and service development process to ensure that the customers voice is heard, and that the business solution is feasible, desirable and viable. You keep up latest industry and mega trends and keep a close eye on the competition, delivering meaningful insight to the business.
You will succeed as our Strategic Design Manager if you have:
* Well-rounded design skills with a great understanding of physical space, background in architectural or interior design preferred
* Track record in managing complex projects and deliver according to tight timelines and budgets
* A customer centric mindset
* Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills
* Commercial acumen and ability to develop business cases
* Innovative mindset and ability to see the ‘big picture’, while also having strong attention to detail
* Knowledge and experience in design thinking and service design will be highly regarded
Ability to work independently and prioritize work as required is essential. We would also value a master level degree and a minimum of five years of work experience from professional design environment with strong customer focus.
