Mid-Senior Level Designer / Nordkapp

We are looking for talented mid-senior level designers with experience in digital product/service design to effectively join our team.
What do we expect?
- You are a full-stack designer with relevant experience (4+ years) in product & service design, either in-house, at an agency or on your own hustle.
- We are a people-first company, and we value the ability to articulate & present one’s thoughts & ideas clearly. With us, designs are created together with other people. You have the agency and wit to know when to write and rewrite your briefs, and when to work together as a team.
- Actively participating and contributing in workshops and collaborative work to take your team and stakeholders along the process, delivering clarity, defining ownerships & next steps. You understand the potential net positive (and negative) impact of your work on the business and society.
- Finally, while you might not have the direct responsibility for a project, communicating directly with clients, without any project managers or middle persons is still important.
Requirements
A cover letterArticulate your background, your interest in working at Nordkapp and how it overlaps with your future ambitions as a designer.Relevant portfolio curating your best work (max 3-5 projects). Your work must demonstrate:
Solid foundations of what is good design. A good grasp of grid systems, typography, colour theory, composition & storytelling form a basis to build everything else – also break them when appropriate.
Ability to imagine dynamic, modern user interfaces and experiences through prototyping, micro-interactions and motion design.
Knowledge of building and maintaining design systems.
Experience in industry-standard tools such as Figma, Sketch & Adobe suite (PS, AI, AE) is required.
We expect our designers to be comfortable in identifying and navigating basic service design approaches-desk research, facilitation, validation of ideas through user-testing or interviews, customer journeys, understanding of analytics and so on.Language fluencyOur working language is English, but command over Finnish is valuable.
