Senior manager, Product Design / Wärtsilä
Ahoy all design leaders!
How does working on decarbonizing the maritime industry sound to you? Maybe not something you’d think about daily, but it triggers the imagination; leading a product design team in a company that is dedicated to optimizing fleet and port operations, will have an impact on maritime decarbonization journey! Voyage Services as part of Marine Power focuses on digital solutions from ship to shore to help customers to make ”greener decisions” and improve their operational efficiency, leading to lower costs and reduced emissions.
Why apply?
- Maritime industry ”emitted about 1.2 gigatons of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e) in 2020, equivalent to about 3% of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This is more than the world’s 5th GHG emitting country.” (tps://unctad.org/news/decarbonizing-maritime-sector-mobilizing-coordinated-action-industry-using-ecosystems-approach#:~:text=The%20maritime%20industry%20is%20highly,5th%20GHG%20emitting%20country. The problems that need to be solved are complex and the impact our solutions can play in this field is huge. Design can provide a means to deliver on that potential.
