CADMATIC is a leading developer of digital and intelligent 3D-based design, engineering, and information management software solutions for the marine, process, and construction industries. Our story began already in the 1980s when the decision to develop a 3D computer-aided plant and ship design system was made. Today we are the selected developer and provider of CADMATIC software solutions for over 6 000 customers in 60 countries. We are among the 100 biggest R&D investors in Finland taking into account all companies from different industries. Over the last years, we have multiplied our business, and we are far from done! We are just getting started.

Your role

As our new Senior User Experience Designer, you can leave your mark in our world-wide user base! We have a strategic focus on UX, so we need you to be the voice of our users and act as an idea generator across functions. In your role you help us understand customers’ expectations by interviewing our users and performing competitor analysis. You work with interaction design and wireframing, as well as user testing of mock-ups, prototypes, and the final product. You also participate in developing our guidelines and processes. You are located in Groningen, the Netherlands and you report to our UX Director located in Finland.

Our user interfaces have unique graphical elements and interactions in 2D and 3D, and they are supported by our own core technologies. In your role you develop user experience for our Hull products used by 40 % of the world’s shipyards and their engineering networks. So, this really is an opportunity for you to use your prior experience you may have in Marine business or start to learn more about the exciting industry.

In your role you work with motivated professionals with a broad range of knowledge, skills and tasks. Your closest stakeholders include Product Owners, Developers, Testers, Application Specialists as well as End Users, and you bring your own expertise to the mix. Our UX team works in a variety of projects, taking part in new developments and improving the existing products by both major rewrites and picking some low hanging fruits. What we expect from you

To become our next Senior UX Designer, you have experience in shaping user experience for digital products that are designed for professional users. You are familiar with user-centered research and design methodologies, and your skillset includes communication, interaction, and empathy. You are a virtuoso in creating simple solutions in a complex domain and you are able to explain our design decisions to stakeholders. In addition, you are experienced facilitator who is interested and able to dig deeper into the world of our technically oriented users. You also like to travel every now and then to meet our users and your fellow Cadmaticans.

You are fluent in English, and you used to work in a global environment. Most importantly you are able to learn CADMATIC software and understand our customers’ needs and user experience. You understand that our high-quality products and flexible mindsets are essential for our future growth.
