WHAT WE’RE AFTER
We are seeking a skilled and versatile UX Designer to join our game development team in Oulu. We offer a fixed-term position for job alternation leave from August 2023 to January 2024.
We are best known for the mobile smash hits “Hill Climb Racing” and “Hill Climb Racing 2”, which have a combined total of over 2 Billion installs across all platforms – However, despite our huge audience, we keep things small and personal, with a strong focus on maintaining a relaxed, casual, and informal work atmosphere.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our cross-functional teams, including game designers, artists, and developers, to create intuitive and visually stunning user interfaces. You will have the opportunity to combine your skills in UX design and artistic flair to craft immersive experiences that delight our players.
In this role, you will
- Develop and execute innovative UX design concepts for our games, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
- Create visually compelling user interfaces, illustrations, and graphics that align with our brand identity and product goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand user needs, and translate them into design solutions.
What we expect from you
- You need to fulfill the criteria for a substitute for a job alternation leave in Finland (see details below)
- Proven experience as a UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work
- Proficiency in design software such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar tools for wireframing, prototyping, and creating visual design mockups.
- Knowledge of interaction design principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Fluent written and spoken English skills
We also appreciate
- Experience in the gaming industry, or a related field
- Gaming as a hobby and an interest in mobile games
- Experience with motion design and animation
- Familiarity with Unity or other game development engines
- Understanding of user research techniques, including conducting user interviews, usability testing, and creating personas.
Criteria for a substitute for a job alternation leave
The substitute for a job alternation leave must be an unemployed jobseeker who fulfills at least one of the following conditions:
- Must have been registered as an unemployed jobseeker for a minimum of 90 calendar days continuously or in shorter periods in the 14 months preceding the job alternation leave.
- An unemployed jobseeker under 30 years of age who has completed a vocational or university degree no more than one year ago.
- An unemployed job seeker who is under 25 years of age or over 55 years of age at the start of the job alternation leave.
Additionally, a full-time student cannot be hired for this position.
