Support for Business Costs – company must have experienced a market decrease in turnover
Companies may apply to the State Treasury for the support as from 7 July 2020.
The purpose of the new support for business costs is to reduce the number of companies that go bankrupt due to the coronavirus crisis. To be eligible, both the business sector and the individual company must have experienced a market decrease in turnover.
The number of sectors covered is 368. Sectors eligible for aid according to the decree are eg.
74109 Industrial design activities
74101 Graphic design activities
32120 Manufacture of jewellery and related articles
90030 Artistic creation
Sectors that are not eligible for aid according to the decree are eg.
71110 Architectural activities
74102 Interior design activities
Note that even within the sectors that are not listed as eligible, a company can still apply for support on particularly serious grounds: if the company’s own turnover has decreased by more than 30% from the comparison period. The information about company’s business sector is directly provided by the Tax Administration.
The application period for the support started on 7 July 2020 and the last day for the submission of applications is 31 August 2020.
The State Treasury makes the decisions on granting the support based on the applications and information on the companies’ sales provided by the Tax Administration.
