Full membership
The majority of our members have degrees in design and applied arts, but we also have experts in the field whose path to the profession has led them, for example, through business, technology or art. The prerequisite for membership is working in the design field and having a higher education.
Who can apply for full membership?
You can become a full member of Ornamo if you have completed a university degree in design or another higher education and are working in the design field.
You can also apply for membership, even without the aforementioned higher education, if you have worked in a professional position in the field for at least six years or have a recommendation from two Ornamo members and demonstrate your professional qualifications with a portfolio.
The portfolio and recommendations demonstrating your professional qualifications should be attached to the application for or sent separately by email to muotoilu@ornamo.fi.

We process applications continuously, except during the holiday periods in July and at the turn of the year. Membership begins when you receive confirmation by email and ends when you notify us in writing. The first membership invoice covers the end of the current year. Membership automatically continues for the next year and membership is invoiced once a year in January.
