Ornamo’s staff grew in autumn 2026

Autumn has brought four new employees to our team. Get to know the new faces at Ornamo and the work they do.

The new team members strengthen the association’s communications, IT and the Design Skills 5.0 project, which aims to support designers’ participation in the sustainability transition.

Mimosa Tast joined the communications team as an intern in September. She is finishing her design studies at LAB University of Applied Sciences and, alongside work, runs Sälä, the independent design magazine she founded. For Mimosa, Ornamo is a dream workplace: working behind the scenes of Finnish design, supporting professionals and helping develop the whole field has long felt like the right direction for her career. During her internship, Tast is developing Ornamo’s social media channels, helping make the Finnish Designers website even better and producing Ornamo’s annual publication.

Ornamo’s IT is now in the hands of Aura Putkonen. A second-year IT student, she is already a familiar face at the association, having previously worked on Ornamo’s device maintenance and website projects. Her goal is to update current systems to support modern ways of working, freeing up our experts’ time for serving members.

Sofia Hemberg is the new intern on Ornamo’s Design Skills 5.0 project. Alongside her internship, she is studying in the International Design Business Management (IDBM) master’s programme at Aalto University. She previously graduated from the interior architecture and furniture design programme at LAB Institute of Design.

Emma Berg has started at Ornamo as a project specialist. Her background is in industrial ceramic design, but in recent years she has worked on the energy transition. At Ornamo, Emma helps designers take part in the sustainability transition through the Design Skills 5.0 project and its pilots.
