Ornamo Responsibility Circle is a network focused on discussing responsibility-related topics, learning from each other, and providing peer support for sustainability work. In the group’s meetings, members discuss various issues related to responsibility and sustainability across different design sectors. The group meets approximately once a month, either in person or via remote connection.

Ornamo International Circle brings together our members who are interested in promoting the international design community in Finland. The group meets in an informal setting to discuss design-related topics and exchange updates within the community.

The AI-focused network discusses current applications of artificial intelligence, its impact on various industries, and its ethical dimensions. The group’s goal is to deepen members’ understanding of AI, share knowledge and experiences in its utilization, and promote the development of the field. Topics of discussion may include AI’s role in design, automation, data usage, and the future of AI. The group aims to foster new collaboration opportunities and support members in leveraging AI in their work.

Bio Sosio Ensemble focuses on themes of social design, design research, design education, critical thinking, and eco-social reconstruction, emphasizing the importance of science and collective understanding. This interest group brings together a multidisciplinary community to promote design’s role as a critical, responsible actor, research field, and producer. 

The goal is to create opportunities for collaboration between professionals and emerging phenomena, fostering meaningful and impactful solutions through cooperation with designers, artists, researchers, businesses, educational institutions, NGOs, museums, journalists, and various other networks and funding models.

Bio Sosio Ensemble aims to advance ecologically and socially responsible as well as curious solutions that integrate multidisciplinarity, human behaviour, material cycles, resilience, and by-product utilization, alongside new technologies, new bio-economies and ”bio-logics”, natural processes, and the temporary and permanent potentials of the built and natural environment.

The focus extends to spatial and non-spatial design as well as adaptive energy- and material-conscious approaches such as agentials and new soils.

DILC is a group for professionals working in leadership roles within the design industry. The group’s aim is to advance activities related to design and innovation, facilitate cross-pollination of ideas, and foster networking opportunities.

A new group is forming!

Journey OPS brings together service design professionals, experts, and service developers who want to deepen their expertise, exchange ideas, and share experiences in a supportive, approachable environment. The group offers a platform for dialogue and learning, addressing various aspects of service design such as customer insight, user experience, and service process development. It is open to anyone interested in service design and its potential to enhance services across different industries.

Ornamo’s Public Art network organizes discussion events and creates opportunities for collaboration across different sectors. The group’s goal is to engage with industry professionals and gather perspectives on public art and art procurement.

MUOTI (Fashion)

The FASHION network is a platform for Ornamo members interested in fashion. The events are open to all, regardless of professional title, and also to external experts unless otherwise agreed.

The group is not currently active and is looking for a leader.

The Industrial Designers TKO (Teolliset Muotoilijat TKO) brings expertise in industrial design to Ornamo’s advocacy work. The group is currently inactive and is seeking a leader from within its members.

Design Sparks connects design students from different educational institutions and offers peer support, inspiration and networking opportunities for future designers. The activities are built around joint workshops and excursions, through which students share their experiences and learn from each other.
