The Manifesto calls for taking responsibility for the sustainability of design
The Responsible Design Manifesto, which was launched on the opening day of the Architecture and Design Days, invites designers, companies and organizations to take responsibility for the environmental impact of design. Be part of the conversation & sign the Manifesto, too!
The Manifesto release event Challenging the Paradigm brought together the pioneers of responsible design for an open event at Helsinki City Hall.
The Manifesto of Responsible Design elevates sustainable development planning as a core principle, to respond to the crisis caused by climate change, biodiversity loss and social inequality. The manifesto is co-created by the designers Adithya Varadarajan, Angelos Arnis, Anna Kokki and Milja Havusela, all active members of Ornamo’s responsibility circle ORC. Ornamo’s representative in the group has been sustainability expert Tarja-Kaarina Laamanen. Through co-operation they aim to create a fairer, sustainable and more beautiful future through cooperation.
